There are are only 2 tonkatsu restaurant in Japan listed in Michelin Guide. One is katsuzen at Ginza at barney's new york building. The other one is this one Agezuki. They have english menu. I want to start by saying that I came to this restaurant with Japanese friends and we also made a reservation in advanced so the customer service wasn’t bad.
The pork itself was really juicy, perfectly salted and tender. The panko for this one is bigger than what you would normally find for tonkatsu but it’s so light at the same time. I ordered the rosu katsu which is an oilier and a cut that has more fat so I don’t recommend you eat this often but it is a nice splurge every once in a while. The rice was also perfectly cooked and soft without being mushy.
One of the highlights of this was the miso soup which came with a lot of clams. I was not able to finish it unfortunately because I got very full from the tonkatsu and the cabbage alone.
This is definitely a nice place to treat yourself but I understand that I avoided some problems mentioned by other people (they don’t like foreign customers, the customer service being bad, long line plus long wait for the food etc) by coming here with my Japanese friends and making a reservation.

This might be my favorite tonkatsu place in Tokyo. There is usually a line, but they do take reservations. The pork is cooked very slow, so it takes some time, but the meat is so tender. Totally worth it.
