When you think of Kanazawa, you think of oden! So, I went to this famous store.
I heard from word of mouth that you can make reservations up to a week in advance, so when I called a week in advance, the time I could go was already booked.
The information is mid-October 2023, but it seems that [reservations can be made from 2 weeks in advance]. I asked the person at the store.
I had no choice but to go to the store around 8pm and wait in line, and I was able to enter after waiting for about 40 minutes.
The store was buzzing with energy and the staff were very busy, so I had to find the right time to speak to them. Oden and small bowls were served quite quickly!
For my first Kanazawa oden, I ordered things that I don't often see in Kyushu, such as kurumafu, oyster shellfish, lotus root dango, ginkgo nuts, and duck meatballs. The soup stock was delicate and very delicious, and the soup soaked into all the ingredients and was delicious!
Also, the pickled firefly squid, vinegared Kintoki grass, and fried white shrimp were all delicious and worth the wait (^^)
The sake was paired with Kikuhime and Kagatobi. Kaga Tobi has a rich texture and a rich flavor, but it has a nice dry taste that goes well with the meal!
