Amon Description

Located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Amon is a renowned Japanese barbecue restaurant that specializes in high-quality charcoal-grilled meats. What sets Amon apart from other dining establishments is their use of 'premium white charcoal,' a rare and unique type of charcoal that has been used since the restaurant's inception. This traditional method of grilling enhances the flavors of their carefully selected meats, including award-winning brands such as Miyazaki beef (including Misuji and Zabuton cuts), Kobe beef (especially the top-grade Kalbi), and Satsuma beef (featuring a 4% miracle fillet).

The restaurant's serene and peaceful location, away from the hustle and bustle of Ikebukuro, provides the perfect ambiance for guests to indulge in the exquisite flavors of their grilled meats. Amon also prides itself on its extensive drink menu, featuring a wide selection of premium Japanese sake and various types of beer. The restaurant is even recognized as a 'Kamawa Certified' establishment, ensuring the highest quality and standards in their beer service. The carefully poured beer, served in specialized glasses, enhances the aroma and richness of the popular 'The Premium Malt's' beer, allowing guests to savor every sip.

For those looking for an extraordinary dining experience, Amon offers a variety of recommended courses. The 'Special Selection Course' is a luxurious option that includes a selection of their finest dishes, incorporating the restaurant's expertise in barbecue beyond the traditional realm. Another option is the 'Akai (Red) Course,' which is specially curated for those who appreciate lean cuts of meat. With its meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality, Amon guarantees a memorable and satisfying dining experience for meat lovers and connoisseurs alike.

Very high quality selection of meats and a great charcoal grill. Will definitely come again! The the tongue, 上ロース and the uni wrapped wagyu nigiri were the winners!

I do wish the staff would tell other customers with kids to shut up though. They get a lot of screamers.

Amazing hole in the wall restaurant. Hard to find but I love the atmosphere and the meat was the best I had in my life. The menu was initially in Japanese but the staff were very patient and friendly and got us an English menu.

Possibly one of the best dining experiences ever. You will probably need reservations, they don't have a lot of tables. The quality, the atmosphere is awesome. They only take cash, so be ready for a no plastic zone.

It is hard to find, look at the street view pictures. But if you do find it you will be happy :-)
