April 2023
This is my first visit in a year.
This time, the timing was perfect and the place was reserved.
This is my favorite restaurant in Kyoto, no matter how many times I visit.
I'm full, so I visit here for lunch instead of skipping breakfast, or during snack time after eating breakfast and skipping lunch.
It will really fill you up, so I recommend adjusting accordingly.
I sometimes hear that the prices are high, but I think they are reasonable.
Alcohol is the main dessert that would cost around 1,800 to 2,000 yen if purchased separately. Moreover, they have a good sense of alcohol selection.
Also, one dessert from each case that I want to try. It may not seem like it will fill you up, but it really does fill you up,
I don't think you can afford this price if you live in Tokyo. In fact, at restaurants in Tokyo, one main dessert and a glass of wine usually costs around 5,000 yen. The atmosphere is also better here.
To be honest, I'd like it to remain a hidden gem, so I'll give it 4 stars.
Revisit in August 2022
Make a reservation for the dessert course (4,500 yen) that includes alcohol. If it includes a soft drink, it will be 3500 yen.
I like to enjoy desserts with alcohol, so I asked for pairings for each dessert. I ordered about 3 or 4 drinks in addition to the 1 drink included in the course, and it cost less than 10,000 yen per person.
Some alcoholic beverages are a bit expensive, so
I wonder if I could talk to the staff about that.
I was able to get the pairing right at a price that fit my budget.
Next time I go to Kyoto, I'm not sure whether to use the main branch or Hanare.
First visit in winter 2022
I like the desserts at Kakimoto main store(?),
I found out that there is a separate store called Hanare and made my first reservation.
The main dessert here seems to change every two months. The system is such that you choose your main course and several desserts from a glass case, but if you have the stomach, you can eat them all, so it felt like a great deal.
Also, if the timing is right, it seems like it can be reserved for private use, which I was very grateful for given the current circumstances.
As for the head office staff,
Regarding the food (dessert this time)
There's no shortage of restaurants that can tell you exactly which drink will go well with it.
On this trip, I only went to the main store to take the cake home, but I want to use both there and there again, so it's a bit of a problem (lol)
