ÄTa
Tokyo
French: Bistro
ÄTa Description
Located in the trendy neighborhood of Daikanyama in Tokyo, Äta is a French bistro that has gained a reputation for its delicious and unpretentious cuisine. Since its opening in 2012, Äta has been a popular destination for those seeking a taste of Europe in the heart of Japan. The restaurant's interior is designed to evoke the charm of a bistro in a European port town, with touches of the chef's creativity evident throughout.
The name 'Äta' comes from the Swedish word for 'to eat,' reflecting the restaurant's philosophy of simply enjoying good food. Chef Tetsuji Kakegawa leads the kitchen, creating a menu that showcases the best of seafood. The signature dish, Bouillabaisse, is a generous serving of seasonal fish, mussels, squid, and shrimp, all cooked to perfection. Each fish dish is expertly prepared using French techniques and presented on large platters, perfect for sharing with friends over a glass of chilled white wine.
What sets Äta apart is its commitment to creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's concept of 'hand-eatable French' emphasizes the joy of eating without pretension. The menu is complemented by an extensive selection of wines, carefully chosen to enhance the flavors of the seafood dishes. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch or a memorable dinner, Äta offers a dining experience that is both satisfying and enjoyable.
