It’s our first trip since covid. We’re so glad to have chosen here as the first place to eat. We’ve dearly missed unagi dish, the best we had was in Kyoto near Arashiyama. Maybe due to the preference of locals here, the unagi is softer, more tender. The charcoal Smokey flavour is definitely in the sauce! Can tell that the eating house has been around for super long. Lovely traditional dining room, and the host was very patient with us despite our very basic Japanese. Do make reservation prior to coming.

I ate some delicious eel! !
It was delicious~☺✨✨
The stairs to the second floor are steep and the hallway is creaky, so it's a bit scary (^_^;)
I would like to see the interior updated a little more.

Little Edo Kawagoe, city walk @ Azumaya
The main purpose of this Kawagoe walk was... Eel♪
Go to Azumaya, a long-established store with a history of 155 years.
Kanto-style, domestic eel is carefully steamed and finished over charcoal.
The plump, tender and meaty eel goes well with the light and spicy sauce.
