Updated Review (Dec 2021):
I've been going to Bacar for about 3 or 4 years now after hearing about it from the owner of Tokyo's best pizza restaurant PST (who is from Okinawa). Since my last visit in 2019, Bacar has updated its menu, with more non pizza side dishes. Bacar's pizza has always been fantastic, and the side menu an afterthought. However, the side menu has become incredible, and both complement and in many cases out shine the pizza. I had the persimmon with burrata, tako frittata, and marinara pizza. The side dishes were off-the-charts delicious, surprising (for example substituting tomatoes with persimmons), and showed a high level of professionalism and creativity from the chefs. Bacar is now one of Okinawa's best restaurants, and would be deserving of mention in Michelin in another market. The venue is quite small, with only a few tables and counter seats. Bacar famously only has two pizzas on the menu (margarita and marinara), but does not disappoint. Reservations are a must. Cost is high compared to the many cheap eateries in Naha. Drinks are expensive, particularly glass wine. Customers are young and dynamic. Bacar has now established itself as Okinawa's best western food venue. When in Naha, get a reservation and give it a try.
Original Review
Great thin crust Italian style pizza in Naha. Also great drink menu (I love the tankan beer) and an assortment of side dishes to go with the pizza. Staff are friendly and efficient. Best pizza in Okinawa, by far. However, just be aware there are only two pizza choices: marinara and margarita. No specials. Bacar would be even better if they could introduce some specials similar to their inspiration shops Savoy and PST in Tokyo. Get a reservation ahead of time, as can be very busy particularly during Okinawa tourist busy season.
