We came here without a reservation for a quick dinner. After translating the Japanese menu we ordered an appetizer and two entrees. The food took a while considering the simplicity of the dishes, and our entrees arrived before the appetizer. Food was quite bland, not very well cooked, and not well priced. We ordered the shrimp and asparagus appetizer, which was particularly disappointing, as it came out with only 3 of 4 promised pieces of shrimp, and was only the heads (why would even serve them, and more importantly where is the rest of the shrimp??). We also ordered the octopus ragu, which doesn’t have a single piece of octopus, and the pork chop came out looking very grey, only salvaged by the splatter of Dijon mustard on the side. I would not recommend any of the food we tried, but it might be nice to sit out on the terrace with a drink and some friends.🐮

The restaurant was so cozy. The staff was so approachable and while I waited for my friend, one staff asked me if I want to have water. I declined as I was okay, but I guess he got worried so he got me a glass of water. Thank you, staff san! My friend and I enjoyed their food and it was so delicious. I hope I could go back on my birthday!

The place is located next to the harbor, so the view is pretty nice. Therefor, the price is not so cheap (but not super expensive too). Service was great and the food was not bad! During winter, they have a heater outside. There are also some take out menu, and you can have it near a nice green open space in front of the restaurant. Overall, if you are just around the area or waiting for your ferry to arrive, you might wanna check the place out.

Update 2020 Nov 11: Lunch was excellent value for money, so overall this place well deserves 4 stars. There are 6 different set lunches to choose from, all 4 we tried were excellent. And service kept up despite being pretty much full capacity. Continue reading the original post below.

This place is a solid 3.5 stars, but Google Maps unfortunately doesn't do half stars..

I really wanted to like this place. Location is away from the crowd so it's quiet and was easy to get a table in the terrace area without prior reservation. Atmosphere is relaxed and makes for a good place to chill. Service is great and they make sure you're nice and warm even sitting out in the terrace at 14 degrees.

However, the food for dinner is pricey for what you get. Waiting times were long whether it was for mains or desserts, despite only being around 20 percent full. And food itself was not bad, but not fantastic, and we were not really full even though we ordered more than usual and were expecting small portions.

Maybe the atmosphere set my expectations too high. I did see that their lunch menus seem way more reasonable, so I'll give it a try next time.

I had lunch alone as my family is away, after a long ride on bicycle, I wanted to relax in a restaurant with a terrace (so rare in Tokyo) so I decided to head towards Hinode pier. I already knew this place but never tried the restaurant. After a 20 min wait, I was seated in the terrace facing Tokyo bay and overlooking also Rainbow Bridge. Coming from a Mediterranean country I enjoyed the view of the water and the so pleasant breeze in that hot July day in Tokyo. I order a pasta menu set and went for a Carbonara. It comes with salad, bread and soup. I also ordered a craft beer which was so nice. The salad and bread were good and fresh and so appropriate for such a day. Unfortunately I cannot say same for the Carbonara. Overall not bad in taste but…it came with cream. That’s a big no no for Carbonara (I knew I should avoid Carbonara outside of Italy but it was really a perfect day for pasta). Price was ok-ish around 3000 yen which is pretty good considering the really good service and amazing terrace view. I would definitely recommend mostly for the ambiance and atmosphere, food is ok but not great and price is not bad for Tokyo.
