Cafe Vava Review Summary

Gluten free was clearly marked, staff was welcoming and spoke excellent English, and the food was phenomenal. As a Canadian celiac, I felt right at home when the real maple syrup hit the table.

Pretty dining atmosphere, great place to hang out and chill especially if you want to have afternoon high tea. I tried their two signature dishes:

- 🦐angel shrimp pasta, where the spaghetti was cooked al dente and the shrimps were plump and juicy. The dish came with nice bisque to go with. I would have preferred the bisque to be a bit more buttery and creamy though.
- 🍓🥞their strawberry pancakes are made without flour so it was interesting to taste it, texture was more like a cake. If you like your pancakes fluffy, you probably won’t like this as much but worth trying for the experience and uniqueness.
- 🍦we also tried their soft serve and it was thick, milky and creamy.

Appreciate very much the thoughtfulness of Japanese… rice flour pancake, no sugar used… and they gave us the thongs for sharing food which we didn’t ask for it. Salute 🫡 to their customer orientation.

Delicious food, very friendly staff and nice calm atmosphere. We'll be coming back here next time we're in Tokyo. Try the Monte Cristo!

Apparently gluten free. It's a pancake made with rice flour.
Unfortunately, I haven't eaten pancakes.
I ordered Monty Cristo.
Apparently maple syrup is added to taste.
I was unsure if it would fit, but this one fits perfectly. I feel like it.
The amount is just right for a small meal, but it may be expensive for a small meal.

I also ordered cream puffs.
The sweetness and amount of cream in this one was just right, so I was satisfied without feeling unsatisfied.
I don't usually drink coffee, so I don't know if it's good or not.
It was a nice place to take a breather.
