We ordered the luxury kaiseki set just to taste the overall quality of the restaurant. All are good, but some are exceptional.

It’s been almost three months since we visited, but I still remember vividly the simple looking bowl of clear broth with a fishball. The rich, yet subtle but complex layers of taste this liquid offered was mesmerising. And in the middle of it this soft, bouncy, light yet savoury non-fishy fishball. As a Hong Konger, I grew up with fishballs. All styles, tastes, mouthfeel and qualities. Yet this unassuming small snowy lump there was quite many levels up above all those I have had.

As in any respectable kaiseki meals, many other dishes and bowls delivered their epicurean wonders in a humbly beautiful package.

The service was what you expected of a good Japanese restaurant but the lady who served us was more friendly and eager to communicate with her limited English. She must be in her 60’s already so it surely gave a warm and cosy feel to this huge hall of a restaurant.

I would most definitely return when I visit Fukuoka again.

Very nice and yummy sushi sets. Not too much and not too little, just right. However, tempura, karage average. Great service and traditional Japanese decor. Recommend for sushi and seafood lovers. Prices on the higher side.
