I was in the mood for liver, so I had boiled liver and grilled liver with chili pepper leaves. The boiled fish was full of flavor and was perfect to my liking. The sharp taste of the chili peppers went well with dishes with a strong umami flavor, but the portions were quite large, so after ordering two dishes, it was a bit too much for one person. Is it just the right amount for two people?
To finish off my meal, I had bamboo eel jus. The eel didn't have much of a unique smell, and the sauce was a sharp type, making it refreshing and delicious. It's not something I usually like to eat, but it seems to be a good seasoning for summer.
However, I feel a little sorry for the bad timing as it seemed to be right after the mid-term break. The unagiju rice was also freshly cooked and piping hot, so I'm not sure if this is normal for this restaurant.
I'm glad it was busy, but I think I'll think about the timing a little better next time.
