Family Sushi Nigiri-itcho! Review Summary

The chef makes you feel like he is your lovely long lost uncle. So warm and welcoming. The sushi is freshhhhhh! I love that this place is nested in an area that you dont have to wait in a line with bunch of people rushing around you. So quiet, delicious. Btw, I live here and this is my fav place to go. Strongly recommenddd ♥️🪭

My boyfriend and I were staying in Kyoto and wanted a place nearby where we could eat sushi that didn’t involve a reservation. We found Family Sushi on google and the reviews were promising. We went there and had what my boyfriend said was “the best sushi he’d ever eaten”. Everything was so good!! The rooms were comfy, the manager and his wife spoke good English and were so friendly and sweet, and we loved it so much we came back again the next day. The prices were not too bad either. We can’t wait to come back to Japan to eat here again!!

Very good food and authentic atmosphere (you can sit on pillows on the ground or at the bar). There are multiple vegetarian options (vegetarian sushi, tofu, udon), and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great place!

The fish was so fresh, the sashimi was unreal, my boyfriend got the curry udon and said it was delicious! If we was in Kyoto longer we would have gone back again, and not just the food the owners of the restaurant where so welcoming! The cost was very reasonable as well, deffinatly recommend this to anyone to Kyoto!
