Single-person reservation friendly! I was rejected by several other restaurants because I made a reservation of one person. So luckily I can enjoy the best Japanese cuisine I have ever had in Fujiwara.

The sauce and the meat are very well selected. Meats are very fresh and high quality. Every bite is full of surprises. Very recommended

We had the most amazing experience at Fujiwara. The chef was exceptional and very fun with our 9 year old. The food was beyond excellent. Best meal I think I have ever had. The location was cute and tucked down a back alley. The whole experience was just perfect. Thoroughly recommend!

Pricey, but they do warn you at the door. We recommend bringing cash because there is a 3% fee for card. We did not have a reservations and were seated in a private dining area that’s not in front of the chef. The first few courses were our favorite. After that, some pieces of fish were chewy or just not memorable. We also lost interest when we had to wait so long in between each dish. We ended up spending over 2 hours there and feel it wasn’t worth the price or the wait.

The experience at Sushi Fujiwara was disappointing. We came in hoping for a beautiful special evening, similar to many other experiences we had in Japan and given a price point of ~20,000 Yen / person. Alas! The restaurant lacked the pristine cleanliness, respect and love for guests that you can find at so many other places in Japan.

The first thing that upset us was the service. It felt rushed and too laid back for the price point. We never received a drink menu to properly choose a drink and were offered whatever sake they had. At some point the chef cheered and drank beer with some of the local customers! He kept on sipping beer from a glass while casually preparing food for the guests. It felt disrespectful. There was no real explanation of the food, its origin, or ingredients. The chef seems like a nice guy with a good sense of humor, yet he wasn’t giving the food preparation attention and precision you think of when you think of Japanese sushi.

The food was average at best. The only nice thing about it was the beautiful tableware. The squid as a starter was drowning in sauce. Quite a few of the sashimi pieces were cooked / smoked or came in with overpowering seasoning, which surprised us. It lacked the refreshing taste you usually expect in a sushi place. The salmon was also visibly overcooked! Sadly, we can’t recommend this place.

Had a once in a lifetime experience here by a true artist dedicated to their craft.
We came in without any reservations right around opening time and welcomed in.
Every piece was meticulously crafted by the chef and served with a personal touch. It was a pleasure watching him prepare the dish and even better to eat. Sake pairing was excellent as well and complimented the food perfectly.
This is the kind of sushi I would miss after leaving Japan.
