I saw Daifuku mentioned in the reviews of Toshogu Shrine, so I looked for it and found a shop opposite the ticket office. I ate the daifuku the night I got home, thinking it would be hard the next day. I was surprised when I ate it, and it was my first time to eat such soft and fluffy rice cake. I bought matcha and salted bean paste, and the sweetness is quite modest, but it is not lacking in sweetness and is elegant. If you like Daifuku, try one at the store, then buy a variety of different kinds and go home.I don't think you'll regret it. They are so soft that you have to be careful when taking them home, but they also sell boxed sets. The children also ate bamboo charcoal and zunda. They have a homepage, so it looks like you can buy it from there. It seems like they don't use preservatives or additives, but one thing I'm curious about is that they are shipped frozen, so I thought the Toshogu store also sells them thawed. The store says it will last for about 3 days after you buy it. If it's this soft, you can probably eat it even after 3 days.
