Japanese owned restaurant. Very nice atmosphere and the staff was nice.
They have three vegan options (tomato soup and bean loaf that are listed as vegan and the staff confirmed that the bean salad is also vegan). Everything was delicious! I wish I had ordered it with rice though because I was hungry and that was not a lot of food. Absolutely delicious ginger ale!
My friend ordered butter chicken curry and said it was fine, but there are better places around.

Really nice atmosphere and great food for reasonable prices. The owner spent 4 years learning how to cook in India

Highly highly highly recommend this place. Food tastes so authentic, layers of balanced flavors, mmm this is better that 90% of Indian food made by Indians. Plate combinations, pickles, lentil soup is…….. so damn good. Visiting Kyoto and I definitely going back to try their other dishes.
Update: I come from family of chef’s, grand-father, uncle and my father are well-know Indian chefs. I went the next day for dinner with my Japanese parents, tried 3 dishes, pickles and the salad. I bow, take my hat off, hands down to the chef/owner, her flavor profiles of each dish, rich and balance flavor. Creative, a partly boiled egg added to richness of an already rich dish, the naan soft & crispy.
Here is the kicker, I rarely eat Indian food out, because I always get an upset stomach. My system is digesting the home-cooked Indian food as I write this, beautifully balanced flavor profile layered with creativity. This is truly a gem, a must eat here, Indian food elevated in Kyoto. I am grateful to have experienced Garam-Masala. Arigato 🙏🏾
