I have never had such a pleasant culinary experience in my life. First of all, the food is amazing for the price. Delicious and very artistic. The restaurant is small and intimate. You can see the chef preparing all the food. The server lady is sharp. She knows when you are glass is half full!! She wears cute kimono and serves you so well. When my bf and I were trying to decipher what was written on a paper in one of the dish, she came up to us all of sudden to explain using translator. She is so attentive!! This taught me that language is not what is necessary to provide good service. We would love to come back to this kaiseki restaurant next time.

Our third (fourth?) visit over the past six years to Gion Moriwaki. This is a gem of a high end kaiseki restaurant. The dishes are fresh, seasonal, and served with a unrelenting attention to creative flavor, detail and perfection. Small - eight counter seats and one table. Dishes are served in beautiful ceramics and glassware. Cash only- $100+ per person with beverages. Not to be missed.
