Gourmet Curry Bon Goût Newoman Shinjuku Review Summary

Wonderful curry. Melt in your mouth experience with the beef! The curry is on a slightly sweet side but it is fragrant, deep, and rich without being greasy. The spicy fried chicken is very economical given the quality and quantity of the dish. What surprised me the most though is the rice. Perfectly cooked while each seed is still intact without being mushy. Hence they all go well into this wonderful curry experience. Definitely gonna come back for a more fancy version with more beef/ katsu.

Okay curry that I found a bit expensive for the quality tbh. But makes sense based on the location.

I ordered a regular pork cutlet and it was… chewy? It had many parts that weren’t meaty but chewy fat instead. Not great.

My friends who got the A5 Wagyu liked it tho.

But another person in my table ordered the Wagyu cutlet and it was better. This dish is, of course, more expensive but if I come again, I’d rather have that that one.

While this evening got rather cold especially with the wind, it was worth waiting outside in line for dinner. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait too long.

I ordered the Premium Beef Curry which consisted of a very tender beef cheek, white rice and black curry. There was also a side of two small roasted potatoes.

The black curry looked like a Mole, but certainly had a different flavor. There was a hint of sweetness and some mind heat that slowly built up on ya. Combine that with the cut with your fork beef cheek and white rice and you have a tasty dish.

Love the curry so much. The premium beef and omelette were also perfect. As a fan of Japanese curry, this is one of my personal best. Many empty seats but people aren't let in till bout 15mins. Staff could be more polite. Submitting this recommendation as I sincerely hope my fave curry house to be a lot warmer and kinder!

Here the queue to wait for seats maybe long depends on the time. Usually weekends and dinner or night waiting time is long.

Was lucky that I waited about 10 minutes to get a seat. Order the hamburg with omellete and beef with prawns set. The hamburg abit oily and the taste not enough. The beef season not enough tatse. Is abit blend. The omellete was done well. The curry sauce taste good.
