Gozenbo Review Summary

I would consider this place to be fancy Chinese. Hubs and I got 2 entree sets for 1980yen each and the portion was super large. Set comes with soup, salad and rice.

Ebi Chili with egg was excellent.
Mabo tofu was okay, but not super schezwan spicy, which was a bit disappointing, but tasty. Shrimp stirfry with broccoli also quite good. Stirfry beef with peppers was bland. No bueno.

The taste was ok and not pricy. While it confused me if it is a Yunan cuisine or Sichuan cuisine. Cuz none of them taste authentic.
May come to try the mushroom hotpot next time

The restaurant serves a really high quality chicken soup in here and also many kind of high quality mushrooms I've never seen these before
No artificial the flavor is from natural and original ingredients
If you wanna grab some good Chinese soup for your just come here
However it's a little pricey but literally worth it

Very mixed experience.
Food was good, especially mala-based spicy foods.
Atmosphere is good in the newly renovated space... But for some reason, for lunch time, all clients were placed in an old veranda at the back with mold on the walls.
The pricing was very strange. Some dishes very reasonable, but no tap water (the only water option is 800 JPy per person) in spite of this being a spicy food place. Teas start at 1200 JPY... For one small cup per person! Not even leaves inside or anything fancy. Been to authentic, luxurious Chinese restaurants in Tokyo that will serve you a pot for that price.
Finally you have to order via qr code with limited to no input from staff when asking for suggestion/help.

The atmosphere and staff are fine but the taste is super normal. It is not deserved to pay 11,000yen per person. There was no complex taste and not real Chinese cuisine. So disgusting. It’s gonna be our first and last time to come
