Gran Cha Yamato Matcha Daifuku Specialty Store Review Summary

Didn’t know chestnuts could be delicious. *smirks*
I know it’s a normal chestnut, but holyfk it was sweet, not like the Chinese roasted chestnut. It was definitely and had a very nutty flavour to it. It pairs really well with the vanilla ice cream as the cream isn’t very sweet.

This is a good Montblanc, but I had better ones in Tokyo. But I do recommend you to try it if you come across it.

It is located inside Grancha store on the 1st floor, and the specialty of the restaurant is Matcha Daifuku Mochi.

I ordered the All kinds of Kuchifuku Mochi with Yamato Matcha drink set, and my mom ordered the 4 kinds of mini Mont Blanc with drink set.

The mochi's and mont blanc's were absolutely a must-try whilst you are in Nara prefecture. My personal favorites are the matcha number 5 (darkest) and the hojicha flavor for the mochi, and the matcha and sweet potato for the mont blanc.

This place sells one of the best mochi. I bought 1 and went back to buy 3 more. I bought all at level 4 , which I think is just right. As the higher levels has greater green tea Flavour and the max is level 5. Must try. Won’t regret it. For 270 Yen each it’s worth it !

Great ambience and great smiling staff ! Dessert and the Daifuku are all delicious and the tea taste are strong enough and flavourful ! Really a must try here !

Mochi was really good! Staff was really nice. Food came out really fast too. The place to sit and eat was pretty small. Would recommend!! I got the matcha & vanilla swirl ice cream and the sweet matcha mochi! Both really good!!!
