This place is reservation only via telephone. I believe they are reservation only as they prep the charcoal brisks ahead of time for reservation time slots. I would say if you are about high N3 or above you'd be fine making a reservation and navigating the restaurant experience. The store is located in the basement level of the building. A coat rack is present to the exterior of the store entrance and plastic bags are provided and present on a small bench to the exterior, you can have your personal items with you in the restaurant inside the plastic bag. It is hot inside. You will probably sweat a little. Once seated, drink orders are taken. Jellyfish and lamb are served. Other items are present, I highly recommend gyu toro rice.
The meal was excellent. Lamb, jellyfish, gyu toro rice and asparagus were all fantastic. It was delicious.
The restaurant had pleasant jazz playing which accentuated the vintage charm that comes with an aged quaint interior.
No menu, some items are listed on the wall. Not even sure if they still serve those items at the price listed, it looks old. Came out to approximately 3,500 yen per for two people.
There are a lot of other reviews mentioning rude customer service. From my experience I did not feel any rudeness at all. The restaurant is operated by two older gentlemen. They are a matter of fact personalities, straight forward and no frills.
If you got a Japanese friend that can make the reservation and go with you, I highly recommend. If not good luck, hope your Japanese is good enough.

A good restaurant, though you can only get in early or late. A place to eat meat.

Charcoal-grilled Hassen in Sapporo is by far the most delicious Genghis Khan restaurant in the area. Basically, it's better to make a reservation. It's located in the basement of a building in the middle of Susukino. The restaurant uses charcoal grills, so there is a lot of smoke, so leave your clothes and bags outside or put them in plastic. The staff at the store will tell you a lot about this area (the staff at the store speak Kansai dialect, which may be harsh for some people, but it's pretty normal so don't worry about it - I get the impression that they're actually kind people). Well, first you will be asked for a drink. However, I couldn't find anything that looked like a menu in the store, so I started with beer for now. The raw jellyfish served with wasabi is crunchy and delicious. It goes well with beer while the meat is cooking. Since I was taken there by a regular customer, I can't remember what or how I ordered it, but I'm pretty sure it started with raw salted lamb. This is also quite delicious. On the way, when the liver came out, my memory is vague, but all I can remember is that it was very delicious. The beef flake rice bowl at the end was amazing. How can you eat such delicious food? I should be full. I've been here 5 or 6 times already, but I don't really know where the store is. Next time I'll try coming alone instead of with the regulars. In any case, if you're looking for Genghis Khan in Sapporo, this is a highly recommended restaurant. However, in many ways, it may be better to focus on enjoying the meat thoroughly, rather than enjoying it slowly while enjoying various alcoholic beverages.
