Hakodate Ramen Funamizaka is a must-visit for ramen lovers! The spicy ramen and miso ramen are absolute standouts—deep, rich, and bursting with flavor. The broth is perfectly balanced, with layers of umami that make each bite unforgettable. The ramen noodles are cooked to perfection, with just the right texture, and the thinly sliced pork is tender and flavorful. Lot's of vegetable toppings. All of that standard (i.e. no extras added to the order) in a very generous bowl.
While I stuck with the spicy and miso options, the seafood ramen that others at my table ordered looked incredible. The attention to detail and quality in every bowl is clear.

Really believe this place should be more highly rated than the 3.9 rating, though I do see it's climbed up in rating since we went last November 2023. We had gone as a group of 8 and were split in to 2 tables. We were able to try the various ramen broths - asari clam, shio, and miso ramen. We enjoyed all of them. My asari clam ramen was fresh, clear, clean-tasting (no fishy after taste), and full-bodied despite its light mouth feel. The noodles were OK. The service was a little lacking, as we felt like we were getting rushed about, but we totally understand how perhaps our big group was taking up a lot of space/time. I really loved the quirky ambience, though. The shop is dark wood and moody - and you see boiling pots of noodles with steam rolling up high in the open kitchen. In the background, jazz music was playing, so it felt like we were in a smoky speakeasy. I loved it though! Overall, better than average experience. We appreciate the craft and hard work of the chef!

I tried the special salt ramen..... It did look good but it was quite tasteless, maybe it's not their best dish, but why would you call it special and one of the highest priced bowl?!
Also ordered the Salmon Roe on rice, I mean ya I didn't expect the Roe to be as much in quantity as advertised by the pics but hey... It seemed way less than the Japanese couple sitting next to me.... I mean it could be coincidence but it's not a secret foreigners here in Japan sometimes get 2nd rated treatment
I give them benefit of doubt for 2star rating, otherwise would've given a 1

Cosy ramen bar. Reasonable price. We ordered at the machine and waited around 20min outside. When we sat down our ramen was immediately served! If you are a party of more than two, you might have to wait longer since there are only two tables with four seats.
I ordered the ramen with dumplings and an extra egg which was delicious! My friend ordered the miso ramen but the soy sauce flavour in the broth was too strong, would not recommend this menu.

5/5 is my rating. It’s run by a young staff, attentive, very helpful and will make your Ramen your way. Just awesome .. more than 5stars if I could say … must try out on your visit to Tokyo.. not a Michelin star restaurant but nothing lesser. The automated ordering machine is a blessing and the service is super fast ! Well done
