This is a hidden gem for people who like historical places. You will have the chance to eat & drink while enjoying samurai anesthetics and recalling the Shinsengumi. Also, if you like anime and love Hakuoki, you will find some interesting drinks and desserts in the menu 😊😉

Came here last night with my family. Great izakaya style restaurant with some kitschy displays at the front waiting area. Staff very helpful and easy to order on the app. Quick service. Pretty good value. Little English speaking.

Great atmosphere but that’s about it. The food was cold when it’s supposed to be hot. My boyfriend has a couple of allergies and showed them his card which is in English and Japanese and it was ignored. He knew right away that it contained an ingredient he couldn’t eat after confirming with them. Let’s hope he does not get extremely sick now! Would not recommend.
Update: I did get sick and it ruined my trip to Japan. Please avoid! Terrible

Incredible experience. We were 20 people and they were able to seat and serve us very efficiently. The food was very tasty and flavorful. The all you can drink options were a great hot with our group! Definitely get the tonkatsu. It's the best I've ever had!

For what's worth this is a decent ikazaya even if you ignore the historical factors: food is decent with reasonable price, except the soba noodles which is kinda lame...perhaps because we got it in a course menu.
Then there is the historical factor which imo is great for anyone interested in that part of history. They have quite a few ester eggs related!
