I was so excited for this reservation, and was extremely disappointed.
It’s a small restaurant with only 5 seats at the bar and 1 table for 2 on the 6th floor operated by a husband and wife I think?
Service was extremely slow with a lot of time between courses.
Wine and alcohol menu was so limited.
Cost was over $100 USD per person.
I don’t understand what’s going on with the food because it was not good at all… not like “oh it’s really foodie spot and I just don’t appreciate it” more like the food was not. Good. Dry, boring, not good.
There wasn’t anything interesting going on with the ingredients and the choices were so bad - chicken liver and veggies? Eel sandwich?
I’m a pretty well traveled person and I was having a tough time eating each course.
This spot was highly rated and tough to get a reservations for and I am blown away. I don’t understand this restaurant whatsoever.
Do not go here, choose anywhere else.
Update: We actually did something I’ve NEVER done before - we left after the 6th course. We paid our bill and just said that we had to leave.
On reflection, I think MAYBE this was an off night or maybe this was a very traditional Japanese-style place. Either way this was so far from the American palate and taste profiles I maintain my position that this would be a hard pass,

Food:
The food was very well prepared, using seasonal ingredients. In particular, the seafood soup with rice cake blew us away; it was the ultimate definition of umami. Everything else was very tasty as well.
Atmosphere:
The restaurant is small with only a few seats. Jazz music playing in the background. Overall a very pleasant and intimate dining experience.
Highly recommended.

Cozy 6 seater run by husband and wife team. Sato-san has strong pedigree of training but he is still looking to be creative and improve on his dishes every time. Lovely atmosphere

I was suddenly going on a trip to Tokyo, so I made a hasty reservation at this place. It had good reviews on Google and Tabelog, so it was expensive, but I made the reservation with some trust. However, in conclusion, the taste of the food did not live up to the high price. In general, there was often a fishy smell of fish. The eel burger was very good. It was fresh, but while eating it, I thought that the wagyu burger would taste much better. The saury pot rice was unique, but compared to pot rice made with sea bream or gold tae, it had less flavor and more fishy taste. Even in service, the counter is usually empty and you press a button to come and serve it. It was my first time seeing this at a typical omakase type restaurant. It may not have been easy for me to respond to the restaurant since I am a foreigner, but usually restaurants in this price range make a lot of effort to teach me about the food, but that wasn't the case here. He smiled kindly and spoke normal Japanese. It was difficult to understand because he spoke in English. Of course, as a foreigner, there are some limitations in evaluating the taste and service of a Japanese restaurant, but I would say that there is at least no need to stop by as a foreigner.
