Hishidaya Review Summary

The restaurant is really small, that is why it is quite noisy. They don’t offer a English menu and the only menu is written on the chalkboard at the wall. It was difficult for me as a foreigner to order food. We ordered food we saw on google maps without knowing what it is exactly. It was delicious but a bit too expensive for the quality of the food.

I can't remember how many times I've eaten here, but it tastes delicious every time. I recommend everyone to try it.

However, I have been dissatisfied with the service for a long time, so I am leaving my review here today. My friends and I were greeted by an older waitress who was very impatient and rushed us to order, even though we had only been seated for less than 2 minutes.

I finished my meal before my friends and was about to drink some water when she took my plate and water cup away. In addition, if we want to drink another glass of water, she will only pour water if we raise the cup, otherwise she will just stand there without saying anything. I have never been treated like this before.

Does this restaurant have any rules for Jiro ramen? I think this is very rude behavior in any store. So it is unbelievable to be treated like this in a store that is nearly 100 years old. It is also far from my impression of Japanese etiquette.

A lunch spot with well-deserved popularity, generous portions & many options changing frequently. The daily menu is displayed outside - best to make up your mind before going in to help the kitchen stay efficient (if there's a line you'll be asked your order before you're seated). There are maybe 25 seats in total, most tables are shared.

Excellent restaurant... Very popular and crowded. Family run restaurant. Food is Japanese style, excellent taste and large portions

Queued for 30 minutes. Good portions, but since there’s so many customers to accommodate, I thought there was less effort into each dish. My onion on my ginger pork was half raw…. Anyway, good stuff in general.
