A small shop with only Ichikawa San on the counter table working for 9 seats. He is quite quiet but he's very focused on his sushi making and we can feel how serious is he towards his sushis. Though we're quite full having our second omakase sushi meals on the same day, we overall enjoyed the meal.

[Check Point]
■A Michelin-starred restaurant where half of the nigiri is made from tuna.
■Course duration: 2 hours 20 minutes
Sushi Ichikawa in Minami-Azabu is a must-see for tuna lovers.
This store is located a little inside from Aso-dori, about an 8-minute walk from Shirokane-Takanawa Station.
The exterior is a modern storefront with clay walls illuminated by indirect lighting, and there is no signboard.
The interior is a simple, modern space with nine seats at an L-shaped counter, a high ceiling and an open feel, and the same earthen walls as the exterior.
Daisho Ichikawa trained in Kikunoi, Kyoto, then trained as a sushi chef at Araki in Kaminoge before becoming independent in Kaminoge. After that, it moved to its current location in Minami-Azabu and received one Michelin star.
He is quiet and doesn't look like a sushi restaurant, but you can get a glimpse of his careful work.
Ichikawa's specialty is tuna! The course includes 6 pieces of tuna, and 2 pieces each for medium fatty tuna and large fatty tuna, making for an impressive meal.
The mild sushi rice made with red vinegar is a perfect match for Yamayuki's high-quality tuna. An irresistible course for tuna lovers.
The menu we received is as follows.
■Kyue Wakayama
Kyuue is elastic and muscular.
■Wakayama striped horse mackerel
The skin is charcoal-grilled, giving it a nice aroma and flavor.
■Noto bonito
When you chew, the aroma spreads in your mouth.
■Steamed abalone
It's chewy and soft, and the more you chew, the more flavor you get.
■ Cod milt, turnip
Due to the exquisite cooking method, the Shirako is creamy and delicious. Gentle soup stock and freshness of turnips.
□Miyagi Shiogama lean meat
From here, 5 pieces of tuna in a row. The red meat has a nice texture and a good aroma.
□2 pieces of medium fatty tuna
It has a good amount of fat and a silky smooth texture.
□2 pieces of big fatty tuna
The bellows part has a nice lingering aftertaste that lingers inside the fatty part, and goes perfectly with Shari.
□Sumi Squid Bandit
It's cut into thin strips, so it has a great texture that you can stick your teeth into.
□Aichi natural tiger prawns
Plump prawns cooked rare.
□Kohada
The acidity is not too strong and you can enjoy the flavor.
□Kombumori sea urchin roll
A luxurious combination of rich sea urchin from the kelp forest and the scent of seaweed.
□Ikura bowl
The buchi puchi salmon roe lacks flavor.
□ Pickled fatty tuna
The last piece of tuna here is the pickled fatty tuna, which is definitely delicious.
□Conger eel
It's fluffy and has a good amount of fat.
Although people tend to focus on the tuna, the other menu items and ingredients are also delicious.
The price is around 45,000 yen, which puts it in the high-end category, but you can also enjoy the delicious tuna.
