Itadakimasu Description

Located in the bustling city of Sapporo, Itadakimasu is a unique restaurant that specializes in a traditional Japanese dish called Genghis Khan. This dish, also known as Jingisukan, is a type of grilled lamb or mutton that is popular in Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan. What sets Itadakimasu apart from other dining establishments is their commitment to using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, particularly Suffolk lamb, which is a specific breed of sheep known for its tender and flavorful meat.

At Itadakimasu, you can expect to have a truly authentic Genghis Khan experience. The restaurant takes pride in their meat processing facility, where they carefully age the lamb to enhance its taste and texture. The meat is then grilled to perfection, allowing you to savor the natural flavors of the lamb. To enhance the dining experience, Itadakimasu offers a variety of cuts and parts of the lamb, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy.

One of the standout features of Itadakimasu is their unique way of serving Genghis Khan. Instead of the traditional soy sauce-based marinade, they recommend enjoying the meat with a simple combination of salt and black pepper. This allows the natural flavors of the lamb to shine through, creating a truly mouthwatering experience. The restaurant also offers a range of side dishes and drinks to complement your meal, making it a perfect destination for a memorable dining experience in Sapporo.

Whether you are a fan of Genghis Khan or looking to try something new, Itadakimasu is the place to be. With their dedication to quality ingredients, expert grilling techniques, and a focus on showcasing the natural flavors of the lamb, this restaurant offers a unique and unforgettable dining experience. So, why not embark on a culinary journey and indulge in the deliciousness of Genghis Khan at Itadakimasu?

Tender meat, helpful staff! This place is pricey but even my family member who is not into lamb dish was able to enjoy the food thoroughly! Good for small groups (1-4). The place is small so won’t recommend for large gatherings

There’s an english menu if you ask for it. It’s a popular spot for locals. The food isn’t cheap, but the food quality is definitely superb for Genghis Khan BBQ in susukino. A plate of Genghis Khan lamb for ¥980 will get you 5 pieces. The lamb loin for ¥1680 gets you 4 slices. You’re definitely going for quality over quantity here. Make sure you get the veggie refill at the end for ¥330. They’ll fill your pan up with onion and bean sprouts and soak up all the meat juices on the grill.
