Izuu Review Summary

Delightful small shop, ate at the counter. Highly recommend the whole mackarel set.

B1 of Kyoto Daimaru in Shijo, there are about 4 seats at the counter, but you can eat in. If you go outside of lunch time, there isn't as much of a line as there is at the Gion Shinchi restaurant. The menu is small, but the mackerel sushi and futomaki are delicious. Inari Shrine also smells like yuzu. The futomaki has become a little smaller.

The main branch of Izuu Sushi (いづう) is located in Gionmachi, but since it is not wheelchair accessible, we visited Izuu Sushi located in Daimaru, Kyoto. Although it specializes in takeout, there are a few counter seats inside as well. However, it was so cramped that I blocked the aisle just by taking up space. Although I was the only customer, I did not feel at ease while eating. Even in that atmosphere, the mackerel stick sushi at Izuu Sushi in Kyoto was delicious. I regret not trying it during my last visit to Kyoto because I thought it was cost-effective.

I happened to pass by a sushi restaurant after shopping. I ordered the traditional Kyoto sushi mackerel set meal that I tried for the first time. I originally thought that it would be too much to finish, but it turned out to be so delicious that everyone finished it and even took it home to eat. ,recommend!

I love mackerel, and this time I was looking forward to trying this mackerel sushi.
I used to think that all mackerel sushi was the same, so please reflect on yourself.
The mackerel sushi is surprisingly delicious.

It's so thick, juicy, and satisfying to eat.
Even the vinegared rice tasted like meat, and it was really delicious.

I also ate the kelp that was wrapped in it separately, and it was also delicious.

I was surprised at the price, but it was well worth it.
