Jaken Review Summary

Great food, amazing service (although English was limited, they were able to communicate comfortably). The only so-so was the wine was not terrific. If they can up the wine selection (by glass, as I was by myself), it would be 5 stars for sure.

Behind a slender corridor is an amazing place with food cooked to perfection, attentive staff, and the coziest of rooms.

Was craving for teppanyaki and this restaurant came up nearest to me.
2 adults and 1 kid (10yrs old). Was told that everyone have to get a drink and so we did. And to my surprise, there's an additional charge of 500yen/pax for no good reason.
Food is mediocre. Service is ok. Didn't satisfy my craving though. Spent over 13,000yen.

We are a bit late for the appointment, the staff do not my mind and serve us with nice attitude. They try their best to communicate with us with English although there were barrier.

Food quality is good, dishes are good and well display, however, we have tried other teppanyaki before, they both give us a surprise feeling for the dishes, for example, Heki at Okinawa use the head of prawn to make a biscuit like cuisine for us. JAKEN cannot give me this feeling for the innovation dishes.

We go there for wedding anniversary, they upgrade the dessert and help me to specialised the dish. Very good service.

It might not be the best teppanyaki in Japan, and it's a bit expensive.
But the service is really great, the atmosphere is nice, cooking is good and above all, they use really great products.
Vegetables and meat... Wonderful.

English is limited, but they did some effort recently so I'd say it's one of this places you find here in Japan that is not designed for tourists but welcome foreigners for a very nice and true experience.
