I do not eat in hotels very often, as more enjoyable experiences are often found elsewhere - but Jam 17 in the Groove Hotel is the exception to that rule. It was spectacular. After a truly extraordinary Dinner Course meal - made even more enjoyable by Bae and her friendly, expert service - I mentioned to a manager how much I had appreciated her detailed answers to some of my questions about ingredients I was not yet familiar with; and how much I had enjoyed my first experience of one particular dish. The next day, I returned for lunch - and was recognized. Despite the packed dining room, they spontaneously offered to make my favourite dish… and provided an impromptu lesson on some of the vegetables that might not be familiar to all visitors. They take immense pride in their work, and I will be forever grateful that they do.

We had an amazing dinner experience here. Tasting menu was incredible for price. The staff was some of the friendliest in Tokyo and the service was top tier. Restaurant was not crowded at all, I highly recommend this as a meal in Tokyo.

I usual avoid hotel restaurants because they tends to be overpriced and pretentious or overpriced and meh. I was pleasantly surprised by JAM17.
The 6 course standard dinner set menu is supposed to be Italian inspired but I also sensed a Japanese influence which is not a bad thing. The serving size is more generous than the typical degustation menus.
The food is very good. Both the taste and presentation are above average. Service is attentive.
The restaurant is airy and spacious with a tall celling. There are quieter corners and a table by the floor to celling windows will reward you with an expansive view of Shinjuku.
The price for the standard set menu is actually reasonable for the location, service and food served.

Just happened to wonder up to this place. A wonderful kitchen with a clear dedication to it's craft. Came in for lunch, was pricey for Japan standards, but overall cost about the same as lunch back in the US. Everyone on the staff spoke fluent English and Oscar was a pleasure to speak with. The fresh baked bread for my sandwich was amazing, the cocktail I had consisted of brandy with an apple pie syrup, just a great experience. Would 100% recommend trying it if you are debating.

We stumble across this amazing fine dining restaurant while visiting Shinjuku. From the moment you walked into the restaurant, greeted by a friendly host , to attended by excellent server and top it off with excellent food makes this a 5 star restaurant experience. Our server was Inuta, he spoke perfect English . His service was top notch , recommended chefs specials to us and it was absolutely cooked to perfection. Managers Gota and Jumpe stopped by ALl night checking on our table . They couldn’t be nicer to us and everyone else . Their excellent service makes this dining experience an unforgettable one. I recommend this place without any hesitation.
