J.s. Burgers Cafe Shinjuku Review Summary

Got the standard burger and a strawberry mojito! Mojito was strong, imo. I was buzzed by the time I left the restaurant!

Both were great, and had ketchup and mustard for free to take.

Very reminiscent to a standard American burger. Very cool atmosphere, like a relaxed modern pub style

I ordered the mushroom and truffle pizza if you could call it that. I wasn't expecting anything super fancy so that's not the problem here. I was just expecting something that resembled a pizza or at least that resembled ... food.

It was a wafer thin crust, so thin I couldn't pick a piece up without it falling apart. 80% of the plain white button mushrooms were RAW. Who wants to eat a pizza with RAW white mushrooms!? The sauce tasted like mud, it was sprinkled with crazy salty cheap instant parmesan or something. I honestly tried to choke it down but only managed like half a piece. It was a nasty, raw mushroom salt bomb, not a pizza. I wondered if the kitchen was playing a joke.

The place seems to have changed so I wonder if it's under new ownership.

Will not be back.

We arrived at around 1:30pm on a Sunday and waited in line for only about 15 minutes. They have a very spacious dining place which can accommodate quite a number of people.

We got the JS Burgers, Cheese burgers and their cream truffle cheese pizza (not accurate names). They were all very good and would definitely come back more, however, heads up the pizza has so much cheese and i think some raw eggs so my stomach wasn’t able to handle it very well. 🥲

It was still a good experience and would definitely recommend to others to try! Food sets are quite pricey so if you’re trying to save up, you can just get the burger ala carte which still includes fries (no drinks). pizza can be for sharing.

Sadly, since March 2024 this particular store has drastically reduced the burgers variety down to only a few. Patties are hard, edges are burnt to black, weird tangy sauce that is unpleasant and overwhelming, fries are frozen
crap that are hard and bland, worse than McDonald's.

No comment on the service or atmosphere since nothing much has changed except for crappy food.

Was one of the better burger joints in Tokyo but this will be the last time.

What a pity.

I got the triple cheese burger!
(2000 yen seasonal special. I spent about 2300 for the burger and fries set including tax and a 100 yen table charge)

it was extra juicy and delicious.
The grilled onions were sweet and there was some kind of refreshing citrus sauce that made me want to eat 10 of these burgers 😁
