A must-do if in Kyoto to experience the freshest soba you’ll ever have from Akiya the owner. His restaurant is beautiful with so much natural light shining in right off of philosopher’s path. The soba was delicious - so fresh, and we loved the three different ways you could eat it. we watched him make it right in front of us and then serve it very quickly. So delicious!

For me it was like some kind of performance. We had 1 hour with the owner and Japanese pair of women. The owner prepares everything himself, you can observe the process when he prepares the soba noodles from scratch. He is very friendly, seems to be happy to have guests in his little restaurant. It was 1 hour of good, authentic food made by someone with real passion and in good company.

Thank you 🙏🏻

We love the pure barley taste of Juggo’s soba and also loved the simplicity of the dish. There were only two dishes and drinks but this was probably our fav restaurant in Japan. You must reserve before coming since it’s pretty small. The location is right beside philosophers path.
