I think I really liked this noodle place.

Kagura Zaka is famous for its preserving the atmosphere of old days, like samurai walking in Japan. Sone say like Kyoto.

To prove it the place is in the back street and you just walk up a little stairs to see this sophisticated façade to enter.

The taste of Soba was just so smooth and natural dashi flavor and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A place that I’d come back to again for sure.

They seem to have a direct distribution from famous sake brand, Kokuryu, which may be another good reason to comeback in the night.

It’s house in an old nice traditional house and seems frequented by locals only and so I had high expectations

For the normal cha soba, but it ok and same with the tempura being average as taste abit oily

They’re supposed to be famous for their soba in radish soup of which I didn’t appreciate it at all. Also add on for the spicy radish option but I find it so nothing and also not spicy.

Saw many others order sashimi instead so perhaps better to try that

We had a delicious dinner here of cold soba with shrimp and vegetable tempura, and an appetizer of pickles. The restaurant is off the main street, very pleasant atmosphere, great service, and they had room for us right away when we came in at about 20:30. I would highly recommend!

Lunch set is so good with zaru soba (cold soba), and the ten don (tempura rice bowl) or the gyu katsudon (breaded/fried beef rice bowl). upgrading from 4 stars to 5, because in comparison with a lot of soba places, the noodles are really good here and freshly made at the store of course.
