Kappa Sushi Review Summary

We ordered Nigiri Sushi (Chef’s recommendation) and Assorted Sashimi and everything was very delicious. The chef and the service was amazing too.

Happened to pass by this restaurant and saw that they had decent ratings. Queued for about 10mins (heard the queue was 1h after on) and ordered the sushi set. The sushi was amazing, took awhile to be served as each was made by hand by the sushi chef in front of us. The seafood were so so fresh and my personal favourite was the tamago sushi which was so delightfully sweet.

The wait was only a few moments and the staff were all very kind. They do accept card. The quality of the sushi seemed subpar for the price. The fish did not seem as fresh as I have had at cheaper places nearby. Went with my brother and the total was about 8,000 yen despite not eating until I was full.

Came across this place by mistake. The street are filled with bars and we were not drinking folks. We ordered quite abit so we're pleasantly surprised the bill didn't came up too high. The sashimi was fresh and nice and beautifully decorated as Japanese food usually are.

Good and high-quality food, helpful and friendly service. Food is prepared in front of you if you’re sitting at the counter. In a lovely part of Kyoto called Ponto-cho, right next to the Kamagawa. Will come back when in Kyoto next.
