Comments: Superb Japanese washoku restaurant in Nishiazabu area. Of note, grilled suppon (soft-shelled turtle) cuisine is exceptional. They are open on Sundays.

Amazing restaurant. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, and of course amazing food.
Menu is based upon what ingredients are available but some highlights on my visit include:
Eggplant soup. The preparation brought out a rich umami in the eggplant. Deep flavor within the eggplant combined with the subtle soup was spectacular.
The nodoguro (Blackthroat Seaperch) was seared to perfection and melted right in my mouth.
My favorite dish though was the hamo (conger eel) sashimi that came with a ume sake dipping sauce. The floral essence of the combination is a taste that I will never forget.
This place is amazing. If you have the opportunity to visit this restaurant, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
