This is my first visit to Kikuya, a Japanese confectionery shop in Omotesando. This is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop founded in 1935. As you can tell by looking at the signboard inside the store, you can feel the history.

The shop is currently located on the 9th floor of the building, but it was probably a street-level shop in the past. This is a shop that was selected as one of the 2023 Tabelog 100 Famous Japanese Sweets and Sweets Restaurants.

At first, I thought about buying sweets that would last a long time, but when I looked at the showcase, I saw so many beautiful fresh sweets that caught my eye.

I thought it would be nice to have something seasonal, so I chose Hagi dew. Sweets are beautifully colored in light blue, yellow, green, and brown. It comes with yokan topping on top. It was a Japanese sweet that had just the right amount of sweetness and would be perfect to have with Japanese tea.

Jonamagashi with outstanding beauty of design while making use of tradition!

8 minutes walk from Omotesando Station,
100 famous Japanese sweets and sweets shops,
Visited "Japanese confectionery shop Kikuya".
It's not on the street, but on the 9th floor of the building.

There was no one waiting when we arrived after 11:00 on Saturday.
I was able to enter the store easily.

I bought Nadeshiko for 550 yen and Kisenishiki for 550 yen.

It's a beautiful nerikiri! It reminds me of Kyoto Uzuki!

The official website states:

All handmade for all seasons.
We cherish those moments when making sweets.
Beauty of design while making use of tradition,
We want you to enjoy delicious dishes that match the taste of the times.
I am careful.

Nadeshiko and Kisenishiki are made with smooth bean paste and dough.
Is delicious.

Bean paste is delicious. Fuyaki is also delicious. There are many kinds of food that can only be found here. The variety is often changed, so you won't get bored. Enjoy the season with these sweets. The proprietress's kimono is always stylish and I look forward to going there.
