Kitakata Shokudo Review Summary

Alright my confused English-speaking tourists, here's how you order:

1. Ask the staff for the English menu
2. Put money into the machine on your left
3. Make your selection
4. Collect your change and tickets
5. Sit down and hand the tickets to the chef and tell them if you want 1 (light broth) or 2 (Broth with pork fat)

If you don't tell them, I think they default 1 for you (which I believe is what I got - shoyu ramen).

When you are done, put your bowl on the countertop where the chef serves you and they will collect it.

Overall, the staff caught on quick that I did not know what I was doing, so they assisted :)

We had the miso ramen and tuna rice bowl. The rice bowl was the better choice.
Cheap and excellent food.
English menu and basic assistance available.

I wish I discovered this place sooner.

Went here for breakfast on our last day in Japan and we absolutely loved it. Order at the vending machine - note top three are ramen sets that come with the tuna and rice bowls. We went with a miso ramen and a soy sauce ramen. Incredible!

Fantastic food and a great vibe.
The chefs are all helpful and a cheerful bunch!
I had the set with the rice and minced seasoned tuna on top along with the ramen with the (light) miso base.

Delicious! 🤌🏻 This is the best Kitakata ramen. I really like the chashu or meat. The soup is very tasty, its saltiness is perfect.
