Kobe Beef Steak House Ishida Ginza Review Summary

Saw this restaurant after researching for a lunch venue. The building is a bit hard to locate but it is beside Lee building at level 7

Lunch meal was great with multiple options, service was top notch and I was lucky to get a table without reservation. Walked in and asked for a table for 1. It was Wed though at 11.30am so maybe lesser crowd compared to weekends

I feel like I got ripped off; we paid over 17,000 yen each for our meal to enjoy Kobe beef during the lunch menu. We were served A4 Kobe beef, with marbling visible on the sirloin but not at all on the tenderloin. Once in the mouth, the meat was far from tender, almost like ordinary meat. Not bad, but very far from the culinary delight I remembered in Kobe. However, the service and the chef were very competent and welcoming.

Made a booking and went there for a lunch session on Saturday. You can make a reservation online (tourist friendly).

The food was amazing along with the atmosphere and experience. The kobe beef was cooked well and it was a memorable experience for our trip.

The garlic was a surprise and suits well with the meat. (Make sure to add that!)

I’ve been to Ishida’s twice now - once at their ishigaki island location and more recently at their ginza location. The service is top notch, but what’s even better is the beef. If it’s in your budget, I highly recommend trying A5 wagyu beef at least once in your life. Don’t be deterred by the size when you get it. You WILL feel absolutely stuffed and satisfied at the end of the meal.
