Small restaurant far from the craziness of the touristic places. There’s no English menu, but the sake sommelier speaks english and she tried to make everything so easy for us (改めて本当にありがとうございました ).

Good quality sushi at good price. All the nigiris were fantastic. But we enjoyed specially the one with sardine, mackerel, eel and shrimp (it was huge and so tasty). The sushiman and the sake sommelier were so professionals and kind. Very recommended

I was introduced by an acquaintance to a sushi restaurant in Kyoto that serves delicious sushi and outstanding sake, which offers excellent cost performance, making it a rare find. Intrigued, I decided to visit. The appetizers paired well with the sake, followed by orders of sashimi, rolls, and nigiri in that order. Considering the prices, the cost performance was high, and the sake recommended by the owner from various regions matched perfectly with the dishes and was of excellent quality. Eating plenty of sake and food, the cost performance of 10,000 yen per person was as rumored. However, I'm a bit worried that since there are only seven counter seats, if it becomes too popular, it may get too crowded for us to get in.

Two Americans walk into a sushi restaurant in Kyoto…the workers and fellow customers made us feel so welcomed and helped each other with English translations to make our dinner so enjoyable! Would definitely go again!!

Food was delicious with nice balance and great flavours. Non English menu but staff were very accommodating and explained dishes. Omakase selection is great option. Thank you for a great meal.

This sushi restaurant is run by a husband and wife. Their tacit cooperation makes the atmosphere and taste of the restaurant excellent. A perfect experience in Kyoto. Recommended:
    1. Service: The menu is only in Japanese, and the sommelier’s wife speaks English very well, which solves the trouble of ordering food and choosing wine.
    2. Taste: The sardine roll is amazing, and the addition of pepper leaves makes the taste richer. The omakase of Hakanuki Sushi is paired with two glasses of wine, which makes you feel very relaxed while enjoying the delicious food. Every dish is very delicious, especially tuna, golden eagle eagle, eel sushi and sea urchin sushi.
    3. Environment: Located in Shijo Omiya, close to the station, the store has seven seats and the overall atmosphere is very good
