Kouya Description

Kouya is a hidden gem located in the bustling neighborhood of Yotsuya, Tokyo. This cozy restaurant specializes in Chinese-style ramen, offering a unique twist on the traditional Japanese dish. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with traditional Chinese decor and soft lighting creating a relaxed ambiance.

What sets Kouya apart from other ramen shops is their dedication to using high-quality ingredients and their meticulous attention to detail in their cooking process. The broth is simmered for hours to achieve a rich and flavorful base, and the noodles are made in-house to ensure the perfect texture. The menu features a variety of ramen options, from classic soy-based broth to spicy miso and tantanmen, a Sichuan-style ramen with a fiery kick.

One of the standout dishes at Kouya is their signature 'Kouya Ramen,' which features a velvety tonkotsu broth topped with tender slices of chashu pork, bamboo shoots, and a perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg. The combination of flavors and textures is simply divine. For those looking for a lighter option, the 'Vegetable Ramen' is a delightful choice, with a vegetable-based broth and an assortment of fresh, seasonal vegetables.

Whether you're a ramen aficionado or simply looking to try something new, Kouya is a must-visit destination. Their dedication to quality, unique flavors, and cozy atmosphere make it a standout among Tokyo's ramen scene. So, next time you find yourself in Yotsuya, be sure to stop by Kouya and indulge in a bowl of their delicious Chinese-style ramen.

Excellent noodles. Love this place. Xmas 2018 and back here again. Really enjoyable, but the portion size is enormous. Never yet managed to finish it but never mind. Great food.

Best wonton noodle in Tokyo, hand-made, most unique and tasty cha-men (yakisoba), fantastic ramen and for spice lovers, the spiciest ramen ever. Dinner menu more extensive than lunch.

Nice atmosphere, superb dishes and service.
Chronically, it was great taste 30 years ago, then around 20 years ago it became not good at all. So I didn't visit here for 20 years.
Now, it's better than 30 years ago.
