A serious soba restaurant serving delicious soba (hot and cold versions) and crispy, juicy tempura. The service was attentive and friendly, even though the menu was only in Japanese, staff could explain in Mandarin or Korean. The food came with explanations on it's ingredients and how to eat it. Easy to walk to and cosy to enjoy your meal in.

Gastric Heaven and simply amazing! Deserves 6 stars. Listed in Michelin 2016 Guide under Bib Gourmand for good value. Had the full 10 course dinner, several items were actually multiple dishes. Stores specialty is a very coarsely ground soba which has a robust flavor with a distinct bite. The Sukiyaki was heavenly and melted in your mouth. The desert was a rendition of Ichigo Daifuku where under the soft pink Mochi was a collage of strawberries, sweet black beans, vanilla ice cream made from sake kasu (rice wine byproduct), in a pool of white wine jelly...

As rated! Love the food and service are excellent. Foreigners friendly and the waiter helped me to recommend the popular menu. I tried Soba Tempura and it’s good!!! They served also a lot of unique things such as soup and hot tea at the end. Thank you!!!

We tried Kurata several times for dinner - true joy - they offer the freshest fish and seasonal vegetable dishes. Lunch time soba is also very nice!
