Excellent Sushi in Kyoto 🍣
Probably the best Sushi we’ve made after 2 weeks travelling through Japan

Tip 1: Book in advance. We were lucky enough to get seats for lunch but it’s a reservation only restaurant
Tip 2: Order the Salmon sushi, it’s a local Japanese salmon that taste unlike any other

We had an amazing night. The family was kind and courteous. We ordered a variety of sashimi and each piece was excellent. The son sat with us during dinner and we learned about him and his family. We became quick friends and he even drove us to the train station. Unforgettable experience and I hope more people have a chance to go!

Such a great family owned restaurant! The owners and their son are very generous and kind, we had a wonderful time chatting with them. The fish cuts are large and the quality is excellent, one of the best experiences in Kyoto and a very local experience that's away from the tourist crowds. If you are in the neighborhood (or not) it's worth the walk. Hisayoshi and his parents are wonderful!

Amazing food, presentation and atmosphere. We don’t speak any Japanese but the chef explained all of the dishes to us. Everything very very delicious, we will be back definitely sooner or later. We ate at many places in Japan but nothing came close to this restaurant!

Amazing experience. Chef asked us our budget and preferences and prepared an excellent meal. You can also choose individual items from a menu with pictures and English names. They won first prize in a Kansai regional prize and it certainly shows. 100% worth the trip although if you arrive late they may have sold out of some of the more popular dishes.
