I went on a weekday and had the place all to myself. I really love the vibe there! The food is delicious and the clerks are friendly. Since the food portion is quite large, I recommend to go with friends or family :)

May be a 4.5 as I enjoyed the books on display and generally like the vibe. Was recommended this place by a local friend. We were lucky to just walk in around 12.30 (after eating lunch!!). No queue.The vibe was kissaten retro with a slight young feel to it (maybe with the young shop staff?). There was a seating time limit of 1hr?
We ate:
• infamous Corona tamago (egg) sando コロナの玉子サンド (v good, dashi flavour in the egg + one side was with a light tomato sauce flavour and the other more mustard/mayo)
• cheese and ham toast (big fluffy toast which is a thing in Japan + some creamy filling+cheese).
• regular coffee was strong
Would eat their tamago sando again but may pass on the cheese ham next time and try their fried rice (lunch menu comes with a drink) or neopolitan spaghetti.
We ate:

I enjoyed their food a lot, especially the egg sandwich! Their salad is awesome too with a cheap price. Definitely worth a try if you’re visiting Kyoto. It’s a very popular place and it seems like they have the system for the customers to go in every one hour starting from their opening time. So it’s probably better to go like, let’s say at 11:30 and make a reservation at 12:30 or 13:30 and so on so forth. Advanced reservation through phone is only available for the round at 11:30.
