Excellent food - and some of the staff also speak English which is helpful.

Absolutely amazingly flavored ramen! The MAX ramen was a loaded bowl and my first sip was a burst of flavor. It is seriously some of the best ramen I've had in a long time. The Chashu pork was thick, flavorful, and plentiful. Plenty of Nori and there was a perfectly cooked seasoned soft boiled egg and a quail egg. The broth was thick and delicious.
The restaurant is small and a bit dingy, that's the 4 stars, but it might be unfair, a larger establishment would mean lower quality. Each booth had it's pick of toppings like garlic, ginger, bean paste, chili oil & powder, etc... It is what a small ramen restaurant should be.
The restaurant was ran by several young men who may not of spoken any English (thank you google translate), but were serious about their jobs. There was a young trainee being instructed by one of the chefs and he was taking detailed notes for every dish. I'm sure as a Gaijin, I was a spectacle that they weren't used too, but they hosted me professionally and ensured I had my food quickly. Language barrier aside, they are employing the finest of Japanese traditions of pursuit of perfection... in Ramen!

This was some of the best 横浜家系 ramen I have eaten so far in Japan. I will definitely be coming back. There is also a point system whereby after you collect 9 stamps, the tenth bowl of ramen is free.

A ramen shop popular with the locals - the sitting capacity was full! It serves thick flattish yellow ramen with ingredients like pork, seaweed and a hardboiled egg.
My partner bought a set meal (¥930), ramen plus a delicious bowl of rice with toppings. With the help of an English speaking male staff, we also opted for a bowl of spicy ramen (not in the menu) topped with finely julienned leeks for ¥900. This was delicious!
We added a plate of gyoza (¥290 for 6 pieces) and dipped it in a sauce (a blend of vinegar and chilli oil with a touch of shoyu). Yummy! (^.^)
PS: The uncarpeted parts were a little slippery for my boots. Take care.

Great ramen - customisable to your taste (which my Japanese let me down for to start with but a sneaky Google translate revealed the options to be; hard or soft noodles (I chose hard, they were great), taste strength (I went in the middle) and amount of fat (I went middle again). Super quick and super tasty!
