As it’s next door to a 3 Michelin Star Restaurant in the same hotel, I may have thought some of the magic may have rubbed off…yet Maison (which actually gets a notable mention in the 2024 Michelin Guide itself) is rather lackluster for the price-tag.

The environment is more that of a gastro-bar than the promised French bistro, in a rather narrow space along the side of the building. The abundance of natural light and view over the train tracks almost made me feel like I was in a station platform waiting room.

The menu wasn’t very imaginative - and ordering anything other than the burger or fried chicken (French dining?) as your main on its ¥10,000 four course lunch, and you will be paying a rather obnoxious surcharge. Though it must be noted a glass of wine is included in this course.

The food was a mixed bag, prepared with undeniable skill (tasty taramasalata, very good scallop tortelloni) but lacking the refinement you would usually expect at a Four Seasons Hotel.

No bread offered at any point during the meal is rather disappointing also, though staff were attentive and pleasant throughout.

There is three course ¥5,000 express menu (which is basically burger or fried chicken as main. But then if I wanted a burger….would I choose French dining in the Four Seasons?

We live this place. A lovely welcome from the staff on the ground floor, then up to the seventh floor restaurant where they are perhaps even better.

Fantastic food, service and ambience, alongside wonderful views to the beating heart of Tokyo Station and centre.

We came back twice in quick succession and we're rewarded with the same excellent standards in every respect. To top it all, the prices are very reasonable indeed.

A special mention to Eros, our waiter on each visit. He couldn't have been better.

Second visit to Maison Marunochi and the food and service were outstanding. Love the casual French bistro menu options which brought us back to our trips to Paris. Love the view of train tracks where you can the Shinkansen trains regularly depart while eating fabulous food. Highly recommend getting the 4 course set as it includes a canapé, an entree, a plat and dessert. Highly recommend the comte gougeres, croque madame, french onion soup, cheese burger, fried chicken and of course the mille-feuille. The menu does change so some items weren’t available on our second visit.

A lounge in Four Season Hotel Marunouchi. We went to get their afternoon tea set. A usual tea set was served with a three-level tower but the first two plates were served by the normal plate in this lounge. The last sweet tower was based on the concept of Sakura (cherry blossom) and looked fascinating! The taste of the first two plates was regular but the sweets were good.

Located on the 7th floor of the Four Seasons hotel in the Pacific Century building, you need to look out for signs to the hotel itself in the back as you need to use different elevators to access the hotel and this restaurant.

We had a great date night here. You're able to book online quite easily and it has a nice view of Tokyo station which would make this an awesome destination for lunch or early dinner when the light is still out.

Staff are very friendly and speak English. For the location and brand, we felt prices were reasonable, particularly their course menu. For JPY 8,800 per person, you get to pick 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 1 main, and 1 dessert on their menu. Some of the mains have an extra cost so make sure to double-check with the waiter.

If you don't mind sharing, this is a great way to sample more of their menu. We were huge fans of their cheese gougere, mushroom orzo and cuttlefish tagliatelle.
