``Mangetsu JR Kyoto Isetan Store'' is located in a corner of the basement floor of JR Kyoto Isetan, a short walk from JR Kyoto Station.

This main store is located on Kojidori Street, and its history dates back to 1856 (Ansei 3) at the end of the Edo period!

It's a shop where you can purchase carefully selected Japanese sweets made using expert techniques, including the famous ``Ajari Mochi''.

When I visited before leaving Kyoto, there was a line of more than 10 people as it was a weekend evening...However, because the turnover was so fast, I was able to get the famous "Ajari Mochi" in less than 10 minutes. Purchased a set of 5.

This is my first time trying Ajari mochi, and it's delicious!

Does it look like a minimal version of dorayaki? That's what I thought, but the fabric is completely different. It has a chewy texture just like rice cake!

This is sandwiched with elegantly sweet bean paste, which is quite a shock! And since it's small, you can easily fit it in. delicious!

I think even 10 of these would be fine...

I left Kyoto with the intention of purchasing more items the next time I go to Kyoto.

Go to the basement 1st floor of Kyoto Isetan.
Around 3pm on weekdays.
There were about 13 people in line.

I purchased 5 pieces.
The expiry date is 5 days including the date of manufacture.
Please note that it does not last very long.

Well, since the rotation is fast, I was able to purchase it in about 5 minutes.
Boxes start from 10 pieces.

Thank you for the meal…

Someone from Tokyo said that Ginrokumochi is more delicious than Asarimochi, so I decided to buy both and compare them.
This is just my personal opinion, but Asarimochi wins by a landslide. It's been proven once again that Tokyo's tongue is unreliable after all.
