I love their teas of course! Downstairs is a tea shop and upstairs is the cafe. I went there on a weekend and was the one of the first people but still had to line up for a bit and then the line got bigger. So keep that on mind and plan accordingly. The service was quick. The ambience is lovely..I haven't been to the Paris one so can't really compare. The food is a bit pricy and the taste is average amazing. They serve both sweet v and savory options.
The butter is tiny. But still a cute place to go once in a while.

The cafe here is fantastic. I’ve never seen so many teas on one menu - it was so hard to choose just one and we must’ve spent 15 minutes looking through all the teas. We went for a smoky earl grey and a vanilla-scented black tea, and both were absolutely fantastic. We paired our teas with some of their sweets - the blackberry matcha tart and the earl grey mont blanc - and we were very impressed with the sweets as well. The only point that could use some improvement is that they don’t have any labels on the desserts, which are on display in a glass case. We had to ask an employee to explain what each one was, which was a bit awkward and redundant. But otherwise it was a great experience, and I'd come again if I'm looking to spend a little more than usual - perhaps for a birthday or other celebration.

If you love drinking tea, Mariage Freres is the perfect place to visit and enjoy exceptional teas from around the world. Once you enter be amazed and transformed into a tea lover's paradise. The main tea room is located upstairs and offers an extensive variety of teas as well as wonderful sweets and treats to enjoy. Sit back, relax and enjoy tea presented and served perfectly. After having tea, visit the tea shop on the ground floor to purchase teas and tea accessories to enjoy at home. Mariage Freres is well worth a visit if you love tea and are in the Ginza area.

Update: Came here a few hours ago to buy some tea bags…although there were a few customers, most of them were just browsing while I had already chosen the boxes to pay but no one wanted to assist me.
Left the boxes there and went to the outlet near Mitsukoshi and bought eight boxes of tea there. Don’t bother coming here!
Previous update:
Haven’t tried the cafe but visited this outlet to purchase their teabags and loose leaf tea. Customer service was pretty good - the employee who assisted me explained the various types of Earl Grey and red tea and also fanned the tea cans to invoke the wonderful aromas.
The Paris Earl Grey smells divine and makes the perfect cup of tea, just as good as Kusmi Tea! Would say it even beats TWG Tea.
Will come back to purchase more tea.

i wanted to get some nice black tea here. the presentation was good, colourful tin on the wall and there were lots to choose from. unfortunately there isn't any sample to smell, and when i asked the question the staff looked a bit odd. i thought it's quite common for tea shop to prepare some small bottle to let customer smell before making the decision, especially for higher end original tea and some seasonal blend tea. finally didn't get anything.
