Maruzen Café Nihonbashi Review Summary

We came here after a full day of walking and mild dehydration, and were pleasantly surprised to find this delightful cafe on the 3rd floor of this bookstore. There are savory dishes like curry and omurice, but also sweets like waffles and soft serve ice cream. We got the soft serve ice cream (“berry berry” and “shiratama” (white jewels versions)) which ended up being these beautiful parfaits that were super creamy and delicious, without being heavy or oversweet. It was awesome. The cafe, though well populated, was quiet and clean, and our waiter kindly came to refill our water too. This is one of those places I would love to go to again and again, to read a book and enjoy an amazing meal or snack.

We were perfectly fine and had ordered our things already however one of our 4 people didn’t want anything to eat or drink so instead of leaving it alone they came back and forced the person to order something which we didn’t do and left instead. Loss of 4 customers for them

No reservations needed. You show up, get a ticket, wait to be called. Service was amazing. We got the omurice and it was delicious! Would definitely come back.

I've tried the various rice options/combos - hayashi + curry, curry omelette, etc. - and my favourite is the premium beef hayashi. The slightly tangy flavour is right up my alley and why I'm a loyal repeat customer.
