Another highly popular café. The entrance area is for take-out with the café in the backend. Mot of the café options are ice cream or sherbert, but I opted for the seasonal chestnut cream. With a strong scent of chestnuts and sweet cream, enjoyed a fantastic dessert. For guys, best if you go with a female companion.

Nice cafe serving lunch with a rotating menu. Dog friendly, lots of magazines and good food. Watch out that it allows smoking inside.

A beautiful cake shop with a long history.
The cake is delicious and reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. There are a lot staffs and they are all very friendly.
Importantly you can order birthday cake one day before and get it the next day. Very helpful when you are in emergency.

My grandmother used to take my mother here since she was very little, and my mother always took me here since I was very little and this place still is my very favourite place.
Individual cake slices are very reasonable (very unlike the rest of very famous cake shops) and they are all very fresh.
The must try is strawberry shortcake.
Cookies are also very nice.

I first got to try Matterhorn's cake at a friend's birthday party, and was taken aback at how delicious it was. The cake was light, fluffy, refreshing with the right amount of sweetness, not too sweet that you find overbearing and guilty for consuming too much sugar, and not too bland that you may find it lacking. At the time I thought the cake must have costed quite a bit, because the cake did not taste cheap. Yet, when I braced the queue to the shop, I was surprised to find how cheap it was. For a cake shop of such quality, I would have gladly paid double the price.
The shop itself is always busy, weekend or weekday. Apparently there are two queues, one for their cookies, bamkuchen and other baked confectionaries, another queue is for their freshly made cakes and birthday cakes. So far I have tried a variety of the cakes and love them all. You just close your eyes, randomly pick one cake and would love it anyway.
