What sets Mensho San Francisco apart from other ramen shops is its commitment to using high-quality ingredients and innovative cooking techniques. The chefs at Mensho San Francisco have mastered the art of creating rich and flavorful broths that are the foundation of their delicious ramen and tsukemen dishes. From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by the enticing aroma of simmering broth and the sight of skilled chefs meticulously preparing each bowl.

One of the standout menu items at Mensho San Francisco is their signature ramen, which features a perfectly balanced combination of tender noodles, savory broth, and a variety of toppings. One of the best places to get vegan/vegetarian ramen in Tokyo. They have this chain in San Francisco & Oakland but the price difference is stark. At only ~$8 USD a bowl here vs the $23 USD in California locations, it makes this place worth visiting multiple times if you're on vacation. You order on a kiosk outside and present your tickets to the employees who are always friendly and have great customer service, they even offer you a bib if you need to cover yourself from broth splatters.
The flavor is complex umami and so delicious. I have to admit I came here several times during my 2-week vacation. Because the other vegetarian ramen places nearby just couldn't compare.
I came here with my brother and he was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the Matcha Ramen was and preferred it over other ramen we tried. I'll definitely be back at Mensho the next time I'm in Tokyo.

I went to the ramen that trdned out to be a "YouTube sensation" and a branch od michelin Star restaurant. Out of curiosity, I tried Matcha Ramen because if not there and then, when?

Since I'm not a huge fan of matcha, I was sceptical to the taste, especially after reading some reviews on Google. Surprisingly, the taste was much better than expected! It wasn't anything special and mind-blowing, but good enough to make you want to come back. You don't really taste matcha that much, but the broth was still rich and tasty. It's definitely worth a try if you like experiments and new flavours!

Regarding the other ramens I've had an occasion to try, they were really good, but again, nothing mind-blowing and life changing.

A huge plus for a vegan ramen that (didn't taste like meat ramen at all) but had a nice mushroom / peanut flavour to it. Unfortunately, or fortunately, you can only take vegan as tantanmen, which covers up the vegan taste with spices.

Pne lacking thing for me was atmosphere. For me, it felt a bit too western for a ramen shop, but then again, it is a branch of American shop. Just a personal preference and this point.

Overall, it's worth trying out the Matcha Ramen just for trying it out and seeing what different tastes of ramen there are.

Amazing vegan ramen! There was not much of a wait when we went, which was a plus as it seems many ramen restaurants have long lines. The flavor of the spicy vegan ramen was incredible. Perfect noodles. Staff very friendly. But iirc it is cash only.
