Menya 33 Description

Menya 33 is a hidden gem located in the bustling neighborhood of Kanda, Tokyo. This cozy and inviting restaurant specializes in authentic Japanese ramen and tsukemen, offering a unique dining experience for food enthusiasts.

What sets Menya 33 apart from other ramen shops is their dedication to quality and attention to detail. The chefs at Menya 33 have mastered the art of creating rich and flavorful broth, using a secret recipe that has been passed down through generations. Each bowl of ramen is carefully crafted, with perfectly cooked noodles and a variety of toppings that complement the broth beautifully.

One of the standout menu items at Menya 33 is their signature ramen, which features a savory and aromatic soy-based broth. The noodles are cooked to perfection, with a satisfying chewiness that pairs well with the tender slices of chashu pork and the perfectly soft-boiled egg. For those who prefer a thicker and more intense flavor, the tsukemen is a must-try. This dish consists of thick noodles served separately from the broth, allowing you to dip the noodles into the rich and flavorful sauce.

Menya 33 has quite an extensive menu – tsukemen, mazesoba, rich tonkotsu broth ramen and other seasonal specials. In my opinion, the best item on their menu is the chicken broth (shoyu or shio) ramen. The chicken ramen soup is rich, take a spoonful of the soup and you can definitely taste the essence of whole chickens.

Clear yet full of collagen to give it a full body. A whole host of toppings make this a satisfying meal – tender chicken slices, pork charsiu, chicken meatball, menma, soft boiled egg and various vegetables. Definitely one of the best chicken ramen (shio or shoyu) that can be found in Tokyo. If you are a fan of lighter ramen, it is worth trekking out to Menya 33 in Jinbocho.

I have been told that the pork shabu tomato shabu tsukemen (summer only) is most excellent as well.
